Magic in the air

Pikene på Broen connected Norwegian electronic artists Aggie Frost and Per Martinsen from Frost, with the the US vertical dancers Bandaloop for a collaboration making the opening show of Barentsspektakel 2017 in Kirkenes.

Bandaloop:
a pioneer in vertical dance performance who seamlessly weaves dynamic physicality, intricate choreography and the art of climbing to turn the dance floor on its side. Founded by choreographer and artistic director Amelia Rudolph

Together they created magic, with a spectacular opening of Barentsspektakel 2017, as Bandaloop entered the huge coal crane at the harbour in Kirkenes. Surrounded by the cold and crisp February air, Bandaloop dancers moved, swung, rapelled and created formations and made the crowd gasp in awe. Accompanied by the music of Frost performed live, with ice-cold electronic instruments and Aggie´s voice floating into the dark Arctic night.
